Dream home on a budget

Dream home on a budget
‘Dream home on a budget’ – Coconut Grove, NT
- This leafy, tropical hideaway has been lovingly designed by the owner as her own little patch of paradise.
- The job involved a full internal and external repaint, with plenty of detail on the outside areas.
- We worked with the owner to agree on a work program where we come back whenever our schedules are not busy to complete the huge job in stages, invoicing as we go. This means spreading the cost of the work over a number of months, making it a very affordable way to get the perfect paint job for the dream home.

A Territory paint job
‘A Territory paint job for a Territory home’ – Fannie Bay, NT
- We cooperated with the client’s own colour consultant to make their inspiration a reality for this traditional Territory style home.
- “…We have a very high opinion of their work. They paid attention to detail, were thorough, tidy and extremely courteous. They were punctual and worked diligently throughout the day.”
- With such a great result for the house, we were back in no time to paint the guest house and office next door. In fact, most of our work comes from repeat customers or recommendations.
Commercial projects

The Anchorage, Cullen Bay
The Anchorage, Cullen Bay
- These luxury five star tourist apartments were designed with security and privacy in mind, so minimal disturbance to guests was top of our minds on this job.
- These big multi-storey projects make use of all our experience and training in working safely at heights using ropes and scaffolding.
- A complete repaint of all exterior surfaces during the wet season was a big ask, but with some flexible scheduling, the rain was no problem and we got the job done and looking immaculate – as usual!
Gagudju Crocodile Hotel
- At over 250 metres long, we’re painting the world’s biggest croc! This unique reptilian tourist resort is located right in the heart of World Heritage Listed Kakadu National Park.
- As if a complete roof restoration wasn’t a big enough job, problems with the initial fabrication of the steel sheeting as well as a couple of previous quick fix paint jobs, made this a monster project!
- We stripped the roof back to the bare bones and started again with spot priming, sealing and two coats of Dulux AcraTex roof membrane, so this croc’s skin won’t be peeling again anytime soon!

North Flinders International House

North Flinders International House
Charles Darwin University student accommodation
- North Flinders International House at Charles Darwin University was a perfect example of our School Works Program in action. All work was scheduled to be started and finished within semester break periods, so there was minimal disturbance to students.
- This was no mean feat given that over 9 separate building blocks had to be painted, inside and out, while sticking to the firm conditions set by CDU around safety and security.
- Being student accommodation, the place is going to see some heavy traffic (and more than the occasional party), so all our finishes are tough, long wearing and easy to clean, while still looking good for years to come.
Industrial projects
Lagoon Crocodile Farm
- With over 10,000 crocs making their way through these staging pens, we needed to make sure these temperamental residents were going to be comfortable.
- In order to make the pen floors super smooth, we literally got down on our hands and knees and hand sanded every square inch before applying the final layers for a zero porosity finish.
- Special preparations or finishes to meet the specific requirements of your industry or equipment are part of the customised service that BWPS prides itself on.
Conoco Phillips – Darwin Liquid Natural Gas Plant
- We have an ongoing relationship with Conoco Phillips to complete a variety of maintenance work at Darwin’s LNG plant, and there’s plenty to be done. All maintenance work at the Darwin LNG is prioritised, so we have to be very flexible to allow for occasions where other more critical work needs to be carried out in the area.
- Every new job at the plant has to be individually scoped and assessed to determine not only the costs and timelines, but also the complex safety issues involved. We have Material Safety Data Sheets approved by the client for every new product we use, and we provide a full Job Hazard Analysis which goes through every step of the job from start to finish.
- There are various permits in place depending on the type of work we are doing, and these, along with all our safety paperwork and general access passes need to be signed off every day that we work on the plant, and again when we leave. It’s a long process but we know how important the safety of our people is.
